Reports today have suggested that Real Madrid is interested in signing Portuguese midfielder Vitinha from Paris Saint-Germain to bolster the side for the upcoming season after Luka Modric left on a free transfer to AC Milan last summer.
Vitinha as per Spanish newspaper "Marca" for his performance in Paris Saint-Germain last season where he managed to win the first ever UEFA Champions League trophy for the team.
The newspaper also reported that a 90-million-euro release clause was included in Vitinha's contract and the clause could be activated in the summer of 2026, despite the fact legal French league regulations do not allow formal clauses - agents and athletes have been able to avoid this ban by entering specific legal expressions.
Moreover, 25-year-old Vitinha is a Paris Saint-Germain player until June 30, 2029 and happens to be one of the team's most promising midfield players.
Although a transfer seems difficult to conclude right now, Real Madrid are aware of the deficiencies in defensive midfield and while no move may be made this summer, Vitinha has started being mentioned in their corridors, particularly with a release clause that could aid a transfer down the line.
